REFLECTION

Dragonfly

His silky wings, a cache of jewels.
When he flew he must have been
a prideful beast, as his trove
of diamonds sparkled in the sun.

His body like an armored tank
ready to spring into battle

His face has two big pumpkin eyes
and a nose of bright
bright yellow.

His tube-like back is like a papyrus
sticking from the murky Nile.

I am looking at a thing that lived,
a page out of nature's bible.
