Autumn Leaves

Dead Leaf

These autumn leaf loupe-drawings and poems were done by Beth Baird's middle school students at Windham Middle School, Windham, Maine.

Once each student has bonded with a particular autumn leaf like these students have, it's easy to lead them into an interest in winter dormancy and photosynthesis issues, including the chemistry and physics of these processes.
